Treatments include:
Orthotics
Orthotics can sometimes help with flat feet, although they are not always a long-term solution. Off the shelf and semi-bespoke insoles are available in the clinic. We can also order fully custom orthotics if required.
Exercises and Taping
The most common way to help flat feet is through strengthening. There are four layers of muscle in your feet, meaning their strength helps you move and stay upright. Exercises will be recommended based on your lifestyle so they fit in with everyday life.
Although Plantar Fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain there are other causes. Our podiatry team will be able to advise on the correct diagnosis and treatment plan.
Ankle pain can also cause issues and be related to weakness in the muscles surrounding the area or damage in the ligaments or tendons as a result of sprains
Also, if you experience pain in the joints of your feet, ankle or knee this could be due to arthritis or fusion of bones.
